Transforming Lives Every Day: Emily’s Perspective on a Career in Behavioral Health

Emily holmes cbs

Emily joined Easterseals NH more than a decade ago, motivated by a desire to support and advocate for people whose voices often go unheard. That commitment to mission—and to growth—has guided her ever since.

Today, Emily serves as Senior Director of Outpatient Clinical Services, overseeing Easterseals NH’s Community-Based Services (CBS) outpatient programming within Behavioral Health Services and supporting the clinicians who deliver care in homes and community settings.

From providing therapy to collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, Emily values the ability to bring everyone together to deliver truly person-centered, trauma-informed care. “We’re really focused on having wrap-around support,” she says. “There’s a lot of room for collaboration and opportunity for growth.”

Over the years, Emily has advanced from direct care to therapy to leadership—career development she now prioritizes for her own team.

Emily also points to the program’s unique structure as a major reason she stays. “Our CBS clinicians don’t just sit in an office,” she explains. “They meet people where they are, whether that’s in a residential home, a day program, or out in the community. It’s a non-traditional approach that really allows us to make a difference every day.”

That model has shaped Emily’s career and continues to inform how she supports and develops her clinical team. “It really does help us provide the highest level of care that we can,” she says.
